Hi DoubleCAD Support Team,

Using DoubleCAD XT 1.1, OS: XP(Home) & Vista (Business).

Whenever DoubleCAD is restarted, the tool's configuration in terms of color, linetype, lineweight, etc resets to its default value - black, 0 inch, continuous line. Modifying the command's properties (right click on the tool's icon) but the changes are not saved after a restart.

I'm personally more used to default values being set to "By layer". I'm unsure how to change this in DoubleCAD.

Cheers

Your best and easiest option is to create a template and a Config with your defaults set.
configure the tools as you want them to work. Then go to Tools|Customize|Options

Type a new name under the Save As button then press the Save As button.
Then go to Save As Choose a file name and the 2CT file type and save it under the temlates folder. Open a new drawing, select that template, and check the "Set as default" option - from that point on that template will be selected as the default on start up.

And how to apply it, on already opened drawing?

Ah well that was more for New drawings. Once you make the changes in a drawing those settings will stick the next time you re-open the drawing. This pertains only to 2CD files however, as DWG files don't have a place to store these parameters. You can save a file with your preferences in 2CD then do a partial load and select 'Graphic Styles' this will load in those preferences, but make sure there are only those preferences, no layers or extraneous items as they will be imported as well.

Great it worked, though it is awkward way to do so but it works.

That I did.

1 - Opened DWG saved to 2CD
2- Partly opened the 2CT file that I've made in advance, with line weights, colors by layer etc.
3 - selected graphic style.

Thats it .

Thank you.
