I like this software but there are some differences to Autocad.
In Acad I press the escape key to release the previous command. In DC you press the space bar?
That doesn't always release the command. Does anyone know how to get back to just the cursor with no command in the que?

AFIK, the Space-bar "should" do it.  Which commands are not working like that for you?

Enter or double-click should leave you ready to do the same command again.

I think they are still a bit inconsistent in the implementation of this.  Please report in detail where you find such inconsistencies.

I've noticed this with a few "Modify" commands - like Trim, Edit tool, etc -- where the spacebar acts more like Autocad, in repeating the last command. As you said, it's not very consistent. Perhaps it's to be expected in a new program - that's also quite radical?

There is also the SHIFT-SpaceBar which escapes from whatever command you are in and returns you to the selector.
