Is it possible to edit my Internet pallette?
« on: April 23, 2012, 06:14:31 PM »
When I click on properties, I get http://support.turbocadlte.com/link.php?link=dcforum&PN=XTP&ver=1.0&loc=ipal

This URL will not bring me to the DoubleCAD forum; is there a way to change the URL??? >:( >:( >:( and  :'( :'( :'(.

It is aggravating, because I have to open my TurboCAD LTE to come to this forum----why won't my LTE PRO bring me here???

I'm not completely sure, but I would look in "Program Files (x86)" for your IMSIDesign program, then the "Internet" folder. Edit the "palette.html" file using Wordpad or some other editor. I find it easier to edit a 'copy' outside of the Program Files environment, then copy the edited HTML file back to replace the bad HTML file.

Correct, you can edit the HTML at any time to make th Internet Palette contain whatever you would like.

I'm not sure where you're accessing the link to the Forum, as there are 2 different places, but here are directions.

Open the TurboCAD Explorer palette (rt-click any palette tab, it's near the bottom of the list).
Expand "Settings", then Built-in", then scroll down to "Web_Links".
Change "Link_3" to: &TurboCAD LTE Forum<http://forums.doublecad.com/>
Start a new blank drawing (Ctrl+N).
Go to "Help / TurboCAD LTE On The Web / TurboCAD LTE Forum".
you could also use the list on the Internet toolbar (under the House icon)
This forum should open in the Internet palette.

If you're going through the "TurboCAD LTE Forums" link on the Internet palette Home Page, then the "palette.html" file needs to be changed.
Shut down TurboCAD LTE
go to: C:\Program Files (x86)\IMSIDesign\TurboCAD LTE  Pro 4\Internet
copy the "palette.html" file to a safe folder for editing; such as My Documents.
Open the file in Wordpad/Notepad or any HTML editor.
Change the link for "TurboCAD LTE Forums" to:
<a target="_blank" href="http://forums.doublecad.com/">
Save and copy the file.
Go back to the Internet folder and rename the original "palette.html" to "palette.OLD"
You'll have to jump through the Windows hoops to do this.
Paste the updated "palette.html".
Start TurboCAD LTE
The forum link on the Internet palette "Home Page" will open the Forum in Internet Explorer.
If you take out the target="blank" statement, the Forum will open in the palette.

Hope one of these works for you.

I can't find TurboCAD Explorer. I did a computer search, and it can't find it either. Suppose I'm missing a TurboCAD file?

There is no "TurboCAD Explorer" listed on the Palettes page?

The "Palettes" page can be accessed via "Tools / Workspace / Customize" or right-clicking on a palette name tab (mentioned above).

If there isn't a TC Explorer palette, which version of TurboCAD LTE Pro are you using?

JohnR, thanks for the info. I finally hit upon another idea so that I can forgo all the changes; namely, pin the doublecad site to the task bar. To be honest, I am not particularly adept at windows editing, and fear that I might hit a point of no return. So I'm glad I found this alternative.

You have to get the right stability between excellent and image. It is an important phase though. Look at any web site, and you will see that most of its fill time comes from pictures.....
