Good reference for DoubleCAD?
« on: February 23, 2012, 08:34:59 PM »
I recently download DoubleCAD and have been working with it the last week or so doing my first project (plans for a chair). I have used TurboCAD in the past, and there is a lot of familiarity in using DCAD.  Even though I have done a number of basic 2D drawings using TurboCAD and now DCAD, I am a generally a CAD neophyte and a lot of the terminology and functionality is unfamiliar.  I was wondering if there is a good general reference on CAD that someone can recommend.  I was in Barnes & Noble tonight and saw the AutoCAD for Dummies book, and was wondering if that would be useful, considering DCAD is supposed to be similar to AutoCAD.

Anyway, so far I really like DCAD.  I had downloaded DraftSight and was a little lost with that.  I was pretty much able to jump right in and start using DCAD right away, probably because of my prior experience with TC.

Thanks.

Steve, welcome along on this road. I have been writing tutorials for many years now and have of recent time been creating tutorials for DCAD and TurboCAD LTE. My plans are to write a DCAD for (carefull of copyright here) the not so clever (to be PC). I have one available now from here: http://www.turbocad.com/TurboCAD/TurboCADWindows/Training/TrainingforTurboCADLTELTEPro/tabid/1979/Default.aspx there is one for DoubleCAD that has not been posted yet. Now TurboCAD LTE and DoubleCAD are basically the same and the work posted will work for DoubleCAD. Any further questions, please post here and I'll get back to you.
