Center of irregular shape
« on: January 20, 2012, 08:53:07 AM »
I would like to find the center of the area or center of gravity of the sail in this photo.  Is there a way to do that?

Welcom Brad, can you post the cad file? I can do it for you with solidworks.

I don't know how to convert a PDF to a CAD file but I try to find out.

Thanks

OK, I can take the jpeg in and trace it and do it that way. Will see what happens.

Thanks, but there's no need to do that.  I was just wondering if it could be done using DoubleCAD XT.  I've already found the approximate center using the old school method of tracing and cutting a scale model out of light cardboard then balancing it on the edge of a ruler while turning it three directions to find the point where the three lines cross.

There is no specific tool/method for this in DC or DC Pro
