AutoCad to DoubleCAD XT files
« on: January 20, 2012, 02:44:46 PM »
I'm using AutoCAD 2009 at school and want to use DoubelCAD XT to work on my AutoCAD files at home.  I opened the AutoCAD file and modified it using DoubleCAD but when I try to save it I get the message

"This file is from DWG 2007-2009 version file type.  It has been modified using version-spefic features of DWG 2010-2011 version.  You are saving in DWG 2007-2009 version.  This may cause some data or features to be lost.  Do you want to continue saving?"

I've looked at the download file types and the only DWG option I see is "DWG-R14-2011".  Is there a way I can work on files using both AutoCAD 2009 and DoubleCAD interchangeably?

Thanks,
Brad

Hi
This is just a warning that DCAD  uses to modify the dwg file the latest available features of DWG (for DCAD v3 is  dwg 2010-2011), and the program will  save by default in this version in which the file was opened. If you want to save in another version, then use the "Save as" and you will be able to save to other versions of dwg file (R14, 2000-2003, 2004-2006, 2007-2009, 2010-2011).
