I am planning more tutorials and would like to know where to head - what direction is needed most.

Presently, I am working on an architectual tutorial.

SteveMS - what do you use Doublecad for?

Clive

SteveMS:
Clive, I take DXF of PCB's and design PCB test fixtures taking my files back into 3D TurboCAD Pro. I als write training material for DoubleCAD and TurboCAD LTE and LTE Pro.

What do you use it for?

Well I haven`t used Doublecad for anything productive yet as I only downloaded and installed it yesterday but I hope to be able to use it to draw out facades, details and other more "skeletal" frameworks for Architectural model making and then send them to a Laser Cutter to cut out the work from thin timber stock and various thicknesses of card stock.

I also hope to use it for designing various scale models of vintage commercial vans and castles/ancient monuments.

Traditionally I was trained in AutoCAD and have used other CAD software along the way!

I work for the Depatment of Architecture at Cambridge University here in the UK and manage the departments workshop and modelshop. I supervise, train and instruct students in Architectural model-making and CAD, but they mostly use Microstation and AutoCAD.

So far I really like the look and feel of DoubleCAD and to be honest again so far I`m liking it better than both the above mentioned!

Regards

Clive
