Cursor and pick point changes

springwell:
I use the circle with cross hairs as my cursor for pick points etc.

However when I've  been on a drawing for while they suddenly change to an arrow cursor and a hollow cross for picking points, after a while they go away and I have my usual circle and cross hairs back.

Not a major hassle, just wondering whats causing it?
