Exploding viewports

The Ref Man pg 517 sez viewports can be exploded. Dilligent searching fails to find any explaination about how to do this. I've imported an .skp of 4+ mb with about ten Scenes. The viewports are very slow to reposition. I thought exploding them to 2d entities might help. Typing in the new position seems to work better than click and drag.

Viewports can be exploded, however there are some limitations.

You cannot be in RedSDK Mode at all
You must be in Wireframe mode within the viewport
Perspective must be turned off in the viewport

Doesent work for me.. I think this would be a very useful feature.

I can't get this to work either.

I'm also trying to explode a viewport made from an imported SKP. Is this possible?

If it is possible please give us instructions on how to do this.

I tried everything I could think of, with no results. Imported SKP files, DWG files, even drew in the model window with Doublecad tools but I could not export a viewport.

Turned off Redsdk, tried with and without OpenGL, flicker free draw, in hidden line and wireframe, etc.

Doublecad XT 3.1

Well... it looks like the exploding viewports function in Doublecad 3.1 is just plain broken.

I'm surprised it was missed for so long, or maybe this is a new bug for 3.1?

BUG Confirmed - this is a regression on a working function and wil be reported to the engineering team.
