comma verus point as decimal seperator ("," vs ".")

Hello

maybe someone else has this problem
I am running 2cad v3 pro trial on a vista french system...
when i want to offset, or input a length in a drawing whose units are decimal & in Meters I try typing the distance with the "." point on the number pad &/or on the main keyboard & each time in the dialogue box it gets converted into a "," comma - thus the command (line, or offset or whatever) fails to recognise the input... I've looked everywhere for a parameter to change to force the "." to remain a "." !!! what to do ?

This is a real prob & I remember in autocrad 2000 they had that problem for a while (the workaround was to switch windows setting to a US keyboard, I tried that & it didnt work..

thanks anyone for giving me the answer to this riddle

SteveMS:
Try this.

Open DoubleCAD and in your Style Manager, to show if you have got the palette there, right click Design Director and select Style Manager. Go down to Dimension Styles and click on the plus sign to open this up. Scroll down to Decimal Seperator and type in a "." OR ",". When done you may or will have to accept the changes. See how you get on, if not come back and we'll see what else we can do.

paddyclown:
Steve,
Thankyou for that, I tried, but unfortunately that doesnt change things for me... but It's good to knos how to do that for dimensioning styles !
Where else could one look for an option to change ?

best,
Paddy

SteveMS:
Paddy, I am thinking that this is a Windows system parameter in bios. DoubleCAD will be picking this up.  could be wrong, but thought about this while having lunch.

EDIT: Check image attached.

Bingo ! You are a star... I dunno why I didn't try that !  But I have to say I am less & less inclined to messing with windows as it is such a huge bag of soup that when it works most of the time I dare not touch it lest it screw something else up - in the bad old days of win2k it was less temperamental, but since XP (or eXtra Problems as I call it, not to speak of Vista) it is worse & worse... I keep hoping my fave 2d softwares will be made into mac versions & then I'll go back to the Mac where I started in 1988 & had to leave in 1991 when autodesk stopped autocad for the mac !

So, one problem resolved ( a major one !) however, for the developpers I hope they make it so that french system users don't have to mess with this as now in other software the , standard is messed up !
The other one about the plan section height maybe to do with mm & m... we'll see, but it does seem normal to me to work in m in modelspace & mm for the paper formats in paperspace, so i can't be the only idiot out here having hassles with this i guess :-)

Thanks once again
paddy
