Assign ESC to programmable mouse button
« on: April 07, 2010, 08:22:29 AM »
One of the most useful features for CAD work that I have found, is the ability to assign ESC to a programmable mouse button. Unfortunately, not every programmable mouse will allow this to be done. Typically I have found this to be possible on the higher end Logitech mouse. In DoubleCAD, I like to assign NO SNAP, RETURN, ORTHO and ESC to mouse buttons.

Did anyone actually try this in Doublecad?  Does it work? Can you assign the esc or return command to a specific mouse button?  And if so, which mouse (type?) are you using?

I have not used ESC jet but several other functions like Grid, Snap and Help. No problem at all and I am using a standard wheel mouse.

Check out uberoptions for logitech mice.  It gives 100% control over all mouse functions per program.

Also, AutoCAD has special mouse assignments in the cui that can be customized/changed regardless of mouse.  I don't think DCAD has that ability.  It is very customizable, but not to that extent.
